The short version. Sunlit Jar collects nothing. It has no advertising, no analytics, no accounts and no social features, and it never connects to the internet. Your progress is saved on your own device and never leaves it. There is no personal data for us to hold, share or sell, because we never receive any.
Sunlit ("we", "us", "our") develops and publishes Sunlit Jar. This policy applies to the Sunlit Jar app for iPhone and iPad, and to this website. It is written in plain language on purpose; where a term like "personal data" appears, it means information that could identify you as an individual.
None. The app contains no analytics, crash-reporting, attribution or advertising code of any kind, and no third-party software development kits. It is built entirely on Apple's own frameworks. It makes no network requests, so there is no channel through which information about you could reach us even in principle.
Specifically, the app does not collect or request:
The app requests no system permissions at all. If your device ever prompts you for permission on its behalf, something is wrong — please contact us.
So the game can remember where you left off, it writes a small record into the app's own private storage on your device. That record contains only game state: which levels you have cleared, which species you have met, which jar you have on the table, which residents live in it, and your sound, music and vibration switches.
This record never leaves your device and we have no way to read it. It is not backed up to any server of ours. If your device backs up your apps through iCloud or a computer, that backup is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's terms, not by us.
Two ways, both entirely in your hands:
Because nothing was ever sent to us, there is nothing for you to ask us to delete.
The app integrates no third-party services, networks or libraries. We do not share, sell, rent or disclose information about you to anyone, for the simple reason that we do not have any.
The one relationship you do have is with Apple, who distribute the app. Anything Apple collects when you download or update it — your purchase and download records, for example — is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy, not by this one.
Sunlit Jar is suitable for all ages. It collects no data from anyone, children included, and contains no advertising, no purchases, no chat and no links out of the game other than the ones in this policy. We do not knowingly hold personal information about a child because we hold none about anybody.
Privacy laws such as the GDPR in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, and the CCPA and similar state laws in the United States, give you rights to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, and to object to its sale. Those rights are fully satisfied here by the fact that no personal data is ever collected: we hold no record to give you, correct, delete or transfer, and we have never sold or shared personal information. You are welcome to write to us to confirm this.
The strongest protection we can offer is not holding your data in the first place, and that is the approach this game takes. The save record on your device is protected by your device's own operating system and passcode.
This site is a set of plain, static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and embeds no third-party scripts, trackers or fonts. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and requested pages, for the ordinary purposes of running and securing a website; we do not use those logs to build any profile of you.
If this policy ever changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Should a future version of the game ever begin collecting anything at all, we will say so here clearly and in advance of that version's release.
Questions about this policy, or about privacy in Sunlit Jar, are welcome at team14693@icloud.com.
